We love promoting Fair Trade coffees because we love Coffee Farmers. You should buy one of these coffees. They are delicious and you can sleep better knowing that you've helped support a good cause. Most of the world's coffee farmers are exploited by big business. They are paid less for their beans than it costs for them to grow them. This forces the farmers into a cycle of poverty and debt. Often farmers have to sell their family land to survive. Poor farming practices are often used to be profitable in this atmosphere. Deforestation and pollution from DDT, Pesticides, Herbicides or Fungicides are common practice. Fair trade prices help to support small farmers by paying them fair prices for their beans. Sulawesi Celebes Kolassi Coffee Characterized by spicy, smoky, earthy flavors and an unusual depth, this full-bodied Indonesian is fast becoming our most popular single origin dark roast. Tanzanian Peaberry Coffee Peaberries are small, round fused beans that occur in 2-3% of all coffee cherries. The prized peaberry grade is uniform in size, yielding a concentrated flavor and a lively cup. Our Tanzanian Peaberry is roasted to Vienna (Dark) and possesses winey acidity, medium body, and citrus like flavors.
