The Island of Sumatra, located right between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, is the largest coffee producer in Indonesia. Our Sumatran Mandheling is grown in Northern Sumatra, and is named for the Mandailing people who grow coffee in the Tapanuli region of the island. A blending of the green coffee by local small scale farmers lends to its very unique and robust flavor. We roast it to Dark, which brings out a slight spiciness in the coffee, as well as a syrupy and earthy feel. Lower in acidity, this is a great introductory coffee to our dark roasts!
